What I want to do with My Story Farm is explore the many forms that stories can take and how compelling they can be. While they may not all be compelling to readers, because I’m not an expert in some of these areas, they can be a learning experience…many times for me as I’m writing a piece. It happens as you learn from others and use your new tools.
I’ll be exploring primarily concepts found in historical fiction, which is where my biggest interests are, but coming from a communications/journalism background, I know I’ll find the importance of story in other forms too. I love taking my Nikon D5100 out to beautiful places and to record God’s incredible tapestry that’ll I’ll be sharing.
I’m a big podcast fan and listen to a variety of shows that I’ll share…from entertainment, family and marriage, writing, language and lexicography, and being of the Christian faith, faith-building programs.
Obviously, since I enjoy writing, I also enjoy reading as well. I’m not an incredibly fast reader by choice. I tell my wife, who gobbles books up weekly, that I’m a savory reader. I’ll be sharing some of my favorites and why as well.
And I hope to share in the coming year some recorded stories that I’d like to share with my beautiful granddaughter. I’m going to experiment with it first, but I’m hoping she’ll have a small library of stories that her Poppy recorded for from his own little production studio. We’ll see.
Regardless, thank you for joining me and I hope you find something here that speaks to you…a story that when full-grown, moves a person to love the art of story too.
